International optimization with consistent brand experience

 

The Client
BALR. is a premium lifestyle brand with global reach and a strong visual identity. The webshop plays a central role in customer interaction — it’s the key channel where brand experience, performance, and conversion converge.

The Challenge

BALR. uses Shopmonkey Grow, our ongoing optimization service for e-commerce. Within this program, we implement weekly targeted improvements to the webshop, based on data, user behavior, and strategic opportunities. For BALR., the focus was on speeding up the purchase process, enhancing the mobile user experience, and optimizing international scalability — all while preserving the brand’s full visual identity. BALR. stands for premium, sleek, and consistent.

Our Solution
In collaboration with the BALR. team, we implemented a series of optimizations, with attention to both performance and brand experience.

We introduced a quickshop feature that allows customers to view products and add them to their cart directly from the collection page, without navigating to a new page. On mouse-over, available sizes are shown instantly. In a follow-up phase, this will be extended with one-click add-to-cart functionality. At the same time, the cart displays in real-time whether a customer qualifies for free shipping — a subtle but effective conversion trigger.

For international customers, it's now possible to show the correct size charts per country. In addition, a size calculator is integrated on the collection page, allowing customers to quickly determine their size without opening the product page.

The entire checkout was rebuilt in BALR.'s brand style, including the correct typography, logo, and branding. This ensures a consistent brand experience right through to purchase completion.

Customers can choose whether to view a product worn by a model or shown as a still. Sale labels are automatically displayed on discounted items. Within the 'Shop the Look' concept, out-of-stock products are automatically hidden, ensuring that only current, available items are shown — a principle applied across the entire site.

Additionally, both the ‘About You’ page and the contact page were completely redesigned to align with BALR.'s branding. All interactive elements on the site are clickable and logically linked, providing a seamless user experience.

The Result
The BALR. webshop is now faster and better tailored to international visitors. Conversion rates have improved, the brand image has been strengthened, and the user experience now aligns more closely with the expectations of their audience — on both desktop and mobile. Thanks to the ongoing Shopmonkey Grow program, weekly improvements continue to be made, ensuring BALR. keeps growing digitally alongside its global ambitions.
